Safe Seas, Protected Shores: MENAS to take part in upcoming Navigate with Care Webinar

Mahdi Al Mosawi, General Manager of the Middle East Navigation Aids Service (MENAS), will join international experts as a panelist in the upcoming Navigate with Care webinar, Understanding Aids to Navigation, on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The event, part of the global Navigate with Care campaign led by the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation and the International Foundation for Aids to Navigation (IFAN), will explore how Aids to Navigation (AtoNs) such as buoys, beacons, and channel markers help keep mariners safe while protecting fragile marine ecosystems.

Drawing on decades of operational experience in the Arabian Gulf, Al Mosawi will share MENAS’ insights into how the effective deployment and maintenance of AtoNs not only safeguard navigation but also reduce risks to coral reefs, coastal habitats, and marine wildlife.

He will be joined by Salesh Kumar, Hydrographic Surveyor at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, and Vincent Denamur, Dean of the IALA World-Wide Academy, bringing perspectives from across the Pacific, the Middle East, and the global stage.

The webinar is free to attend and open to mariners, conservationists, and ocean advocates worldwide.
